We are experienced Breeders:
Welcome to NICKERSON FARMS SHIH TZU.
We maintain a small breeding program to provide quality in the puppies we produce. Our dogs and puppies are family raised in a clean, healthy environment and are pre-spoiled with love before going to their forever homes. We offer a guarantee as well as terms and conditions in our contract that protect our puppies and their new family. We breed from champion bloodlines for the health, temperament, and beauty of our puppies.

We breed European standard shih tzu for their smaller more compact size, as well as American standard shih tzu.
Our dogs carry genetics for Dobie, lavender, blue, black, gold, silver, white, cream, chocolate and brindle.
We feed our dogs healthy LIFE'S ABUNDANCE Dog Food .

HERITAGE
The Shih Tzu is an ancient breed dating as far back as 10,000 years ago. The Shih Tzu is thought to be a cross between the Lhasa Apso and Pekingese.
DESCRIPTION
Considered a small breed, up to 11” at the shoulders, weighing anywhere from 9-16 pounds. The Shih Tzu is a sturdy dog in a small package with a long, double coat that comes in colors of gold, white, red, black, liver, liver and white, black mask gold, black and white, blue and white, brindle and white, silver and white and occasionally a blue.
HEALTH AWARENESS
The Shih Tzu has a life expectancy of 15+ years and is prone to back diseases, ear infections, respiratory challenges, and teeth problems.
PERSONALITY
The Shih Tzu is alert, courageous, active, curious and clever little dog. Your Shih Tzu will want to cuddle and snuggle with you, being truly happy to get your affection. They are not pushovers, though, and will stand up for themselves if confronted. You need to be a calm, knowledgeable, and humane owner giving consistent and committed leadership to your Shih Tzu using only motivational training methods.
EXERCISE/ENERGY LEVEL
The Shih Tzu requires a daily walk with off-leash play and running in a safe, fenced area. They also need mental stimulation so be sure to provide your Shih Tzu with plenty of interactive toys that challenge their problem-solving skills. This breed does not do well in warm temperatures due to the brachycephalic muzzle. Be sure to get your veterinarian’s permission before exercising your Shih Tzu in warm temperatures.

Pricing and Information
All of our dogs are Registered Purebred
SHIH-TZU.
The puppies come with their first set of vaccinations, deworming and veterinarian’s health checks.
EMBARK:
DNA testing has been done on all of our breeding dogs and clear of any and all genetic conditions that could impact their lives and pass on to their puppies.
OFA of hips and joints as well as OFA eyes and heart testing coming soon..
PLEASE NOTE: OUR DOGS ARE AKC & ACA REGISTERED SO PLEASE SPECIFY WHICH YOU ARE LOOKING FOR.
PLEASE INQUIRE ABOUT PRICING FOR PUPPIES AND STUD FEES.
We have studs available if you are looking to mate your Female.
We require physical proof of any potential Female in heat to be EMBARK Tested and veterinarian tested with either ( blood,fecal, saliva) for any contagious diseases. This way the bloodline and our Studs are kept healthy and at a high standard.
We can assist in the delivery of your puppy, as we utilize PET JET PALS NANNY SERVICES, however you the buyer must make all of the arrangements and payment for the shipping to be done from Boston Logan Airport which our closest airport or ground transportation to your location. We can assist you on how to register with the nanny service.
Once your puppy has been picked out we will start to call it by the name you have chosen and will send you pictures and updates weekly.
We are located in Southeastern Massachusetts.
MICROCHIPS:
Microchips are done upon request at an extra cost. Please inquire if you are interested.
DEPOSITS:
There is a $500 nonrefundable deposit fee required and that goes toward the price of your puppy. This will assure us that you are very serious in buying one of our puppies.
CONTRACTS:
We send our contract via Docusign which requires your information and our information will also be on the contract. Your copy will be retained on the free Docusign App.
PAYMENT:
We accept Venmo, CashApp, Facebook Pay and Zelle for your deposit and payment let us know which you prefer.
